I doubt that this is a vrial infection. Follow these instructions:
Find the Speaker icon on the taskbar, right click it and select open volume control.
If it's there, move the master volume slider to a comfortable level.
Then move the wave slider at a comfortable level.
Restart the computer.
Did that solve the problem?
If you don't have Anti-Virus Software programs, I suggest you visit these sites:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
This is where can the download the AVG Anti-Virus program. It's a great piece of software, and it's free. In the web page, scroll down and find the yellow box and then find the download link in the yellow box. once you click on the link the download should begin.
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...eeDownload.jsp
This is where you can dl the free edition of the ZoneAlarm firewall program. Click on the first link in the middle of the page.
Before you scan the system for viruses with this program, update the definitions AND the program for maximum effectiveness.
Again these are great pieces of software, but I would HIGHLY suggest that you go to Computer software store and purchase Mcafee Internet Security when you are ready.
