WINDOWS XP blank sreen!

OK....

WHEN I SWITCH MY PC ON, I GET NO TASKBAR OR ANYTHING. JUS MY MOUSE CURSOR ON A BLANK SCREEN (THE BAKGROUND). I CAN GET UP TASK MANAGER AND OPEN TASKS FROM CLICKIN ON NEW TASK BUT THAT DOESNT REALLY HELP.

WHAT CAN I DO??

I can make a Guest account and when i log into that, it works BUT nothing can really be done as you need to be looged in as Administrator.

NEED HELP PLEASE!

Have you tried tapping F8 immediately after a reboot to get the option of safe mode? [Continual retapping works!] This can be added to your boot screen, but I'll leave that alone for now.

I had a similar problem as you a long while back. The only solution was to make another account. The reason being is that sometimes accounts become corrupted. A good reason to always back up your docs and things

You should be able to save all your files and settings easily, and just transfer them to another "Admin Account".....not guest account, as the guest has very limited privleges.

Basically, your usual account is corrupt.

Please post back and let us know what happens.
