Sidewinder Contoller with XP Help....

I just found my Sidewinder Game Controller and I plugged it in and the Green light came on but nothing showed up under Game Contollers. So i hit add and it said something about my drivers arent configured right or something. Then I went to Device Manager and it says PCI Input Device with the yellow exclamation symbol next to it. Any ideas on how to make my contoller work? Thanks

check your device manager and see if you have a warning next to any devices....enhanced usb controllers.. if you do have a yellow ! next to it, right click it and tell it to update drivers and as long as you have sp1 or greater it will install/reinstall the drivers just fine. only other things i could think that would be a problem, bad or dusty usb port, cable damaged, controller is defective, your account does not have permission to add hardware....or you have some kind of wierd voodoo spell on you that makes just your stuff have problems(just kidding). seriously my wife uses a sidewinder and it does not need driver(installs it's self on 98-xp and all in between) so it is either a defective controller, a hardware issue with your machine, or a device conflict.
