New to XP: Main issue - user accounts config

Hi guys, Thanks before hand for the help.

I just installed XP, was a longtime millenium user and am having some trouble tweaking my system and it sucks.

I want to be able to block whatever crap my other siblings download. like kazaa, aim, all that crap. It seems like whenever someone downloads and installs something on their user account it shows up on my account on the desktop . I can't rightly give them limited user account access because they would crucify me. Are there any other options here?
