XP sounds are sped up???

Hi everybody, I have a problem with the xp sounds on my computer. For example the startup and shut down sounds sound way sped up. Imagine the "chipmunk" sound. Its really annoying because all the sounds sound like this. All other audio sounds normal, just those xp sounds. I even tried replacing the files (C:\windows\media) by copying them from my other computer. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

try updating the drivers to your soundcard.
