USB 2.0 Problems, it's a mystery...
Recently I was forced to reformat my harddrive after a long string of things happened. Now that I have reinstalled Windows XP Pro along with most of my other prior software, I still have one remaining mystery.
I have 5-6 USB 2.0 ports, but none of them will operate at 2.0 speeds. I believe the problem lies with the Standard OpenHCD driver, but as of now have been unable to find a way to solve my problem.
The things I have tried/done with no success:
Updating to SP2 (from what I have read this SHOULD have solved my problem, but didn't.)
Updating my BIOS from the manufacturer's webpage.
Updating my chipset drivers from the manufacturer's webpage.
Making sure Legacy USB is enabled in BIOS.
Using Windows Update to find an updated driver.
Scanning for an updated driver using the device manager/properties/driver menu.
My computer is a Compaq Presario SR1830NX with an AMD Athlon 3500+. The motherboard is manufactured by ASUSTek, model A8AE-LE, but is not supported directly by them because the board is made for HP. I have two Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controllers controllers installed currently, and I know I need enhanced USB controllers in order for USB 2.0 to function properly. My drivers are version 5.1.2600.0, from 7/1/2001.
What can I do! Thank you for any help/advice!
