Exclamation Error: Mouse and Keyboard Freeze

My mouse and keyboard freeze after awhile of use. They never did this a couple days ago, just started today, and it's really annoying, I've had to restart my computer about 9 times already. I do not need to clean my mouse or my keyboard, because keyboard cleaning has nothing to do with freezing, and my mouse is Optical.
Can anyone help me?

Do they start working again (after few seconds)? If yes then it is due to heavy CPU usage.

No they do not. They stay frozen, and I know the rest of the computer is working because I'm usually playing games(although they freeze out of the games) and everything still keeps moving, the people and monsters, and people can still talk, but I can't move or talk or do anything because they are frozen.

I tested it once, they froze, I left the computer for about 15 minutes and I still couldn't use either until I restarted.

The same thing happens to me rarely while playing GTA3.

Try updating your drivers, updating Windows XP and finally see if the manufacturer has released any patches for the game.

All that has been done, and I don't have to look for an update for the game because it auto-updates(MMORPG).
But I fixed it anyway, I didn't know I had USB ports, so I just used them instead of the PS/2 ones and it fixed the problem. It almost never freezes now, and when it does, it automatically fixes it and makes a chime sound.

Thank you for your help though .

OK i have been having the same problem for idk how long. Im using a Logitech MX518 wired USB mouse, an old PS2 keyboard, along with a Belkin N52 gamepad. The problem only happens when i play video games. Doesnt happen in Counter Strike Source. But it does happen in Day of Defeat, Battlefield 2142 and Fortress forever. I thought it was my mouse. So i plugged in a Microsoft USB mouse. The problem still happens. So i began to think it was the game pad, but when i just use the keyboard, it still messed up with both mice. Like i said it only happens with certain games and never when im just browsing the net or other non-game activities. I cant imagine why it would mess up of Day of Defeat since it doesnt take much of a system to run it, but it doesnt mess up with CS:S which has much higher system req.
