Installed Windows XP Pro - Lost Windows XP home files...

I had windows xp home installed and bought a new HDD. I have installed windows XP pro on the new HDD and use the other drive as slave. I have lost all of my music files and some of my pictures. Anyone know why?! The folders are there, but they are empty. Data Recovery tools cannot find the files and scandisk finds no errors....

HELP!

Nope. No firewall. Im thinking that they didnt copy over. I have given up! Data recovery doesnt see them so it cant be a corrupt File Allocation Table or anything like that - oh well!

Try swapping over the drives and boot into Home, are the files there?

If so then there is a security thing going on, lemme check for the exact solution, a program called final recovery i think i forget its name , thats one excellent program. ill edit and post a link

why would a firewall block access to files or delete them on a hdd that is connected to the same machine?
