performance down when emule or kazaa runs

Hello,
I install emule and start downloading. howeveri cannot start any other program after that or stop emule or turn off computer. my connection is adsl 256k. and ram is 256 mb. i looked task manager and could not see any abnormality in fact i do not know where to look help!!
same problem happened 5 years ago when i install kazaa on my 16 ram pc on win98.

emule - edonkey - kazaa etc etc have long been noted for their spyware content - it is quite possible that it is this that is causing your problems - I would recommend finding a p2p client that does not contain spyware :)

If you find yourself unable to stop a program or turn a program off, open Task manager ( Ctrl-Alt-Del) and select processes. Then right click on the program you want to stop and select 'End process'.

Kazaa, e-mule, e-donkey etc....etc.... Are full of spyware and adware. Running XP (which is quite resource hungry anyway) and Kazaa etc.. at the same time on a pc with 256MB RAM, is going to slow your system down anyway.

PS. I hope you have a good AV and Firewall sat up while using p2p programs

thank you. but i know emule is open source, i prefer it instead of kazaa because it should be spy free .

tzigone, get Ad-Aware SE and SpyBot Search & Destroy, both free programes,they will scan for ads and spyware, update before running, then let them clean your machine.
