Question W32 Time Error - HELP !!

I keep getting the following error.

The time service has not been able to synchronize the system time for 49152 seconds because none of the time providers has been able to provide a usable time stamp. The system clock is unsynchronized.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I have tried changing NTP servers cannot see anything untoward in terms of loss of connection, network congestion etc.

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem - should I manually synch as it is a home PC and not a server ?

Either change the server settings from the drop down list or uncheck the setting to "Time sync". Double click on the time and select "internet time".

Sorry overclocked doc - I have got Windows XP Home - do you mean manually configure time rather than auto synch ??

If it's not working I would simply adjust the time manually. Allowing xp to check and adjust the time simply saves you the task. For home use this shouldn't cause any problems.

Thanks will do that...

Basically it is more annoying than anything - i.e. dont understand why it is happening although recognise it could be a variety of things - network congestion etc.

Unfortunately I am one of those people who wants to understand why something is doing what it is !

Happy New Year
