Question Help!!...........OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Hi All, Im new to this forum & i have a problem i hope you could fix !!

When i opened outlook express this morning i got this error message. Nothing has changed from when i used it last night. The message was.....

"The identity login could not be started. Some components are either missing or incorectly configured"

I press ok & then this appears.....

"Outlook Express could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory. Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. (0x807007E)."

I press ok again & then this appears.....

"Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Express may not be installed correctly."

Bear in mind nothing has changed at all from last night when it was working fine.

Hope someone can help. Cheers, Daz

First thing to try is to navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Account Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{8AD1F8EE-DE25-4B5D-8EEE-0429B87C7056}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. The {8AD1F8EE-DE25-4B5D-8EEE-0429B87C7056} will be a unique set of numbers and letters but it will be equally long.

Right click on that foldergo to Properties and uncheck "Read Only," click OK. When it asks if you want to change all the files and subfolders too, tell it yes. See if that fixes things.

*Note: Don't worry about the folder itself remaining Read Only. The files within it will have the Read Only attribute removed and that's all that matters. All folders have the Read Only attribute checked. It's a meaningless setting and only Microsoft programmers know why it's set up that way.

Hi,

I went to that folder you specified but all them files are already un-checked for read-only. I tried checking & then un-checking again but still i have the same problem.

If you have any more ideas they would be much appreciated

Thanx,

Daz
