No access to secure sites

Hopefully some one can help me. I am unable to gain access on any secure sites. Whenever I try to access a secure site, for example my email (such as hotmail or yahoo) and eBay, another site pops up saying:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

If anyone has an idea on why it is doing this or how to fix this problem, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!

Send a message via MSN to snowmonkey
Your computer has been bugged with pest and Malware .... Here is what you do, Delete all the Internet Temporary file, All the Cookies and everything the Temp directory..... The search your computer for the word "host" (Usually there are two on the In every system, but all computer could do without it) so delete any "host" or "hosts" you find. and finally , Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options / Content / Autocomplete / and click on Clear Passwords. That should clear your problem out.

Cheers

also if that doesnt work read through this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp

its microsfts support page on "How to troubleshoot situations where you cannot complete MSN sign-up or connect to SSL secured (128-Bit) Web sites by using Internet Explorer in Windows XP".

or if you have SP2 installed this link might help: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;870700

note: the more info you give about your machine the easier it is to help you.

secure site access

I run windows '98 and have had the same problem. I fixed it like this:

Click start , point to settings and click Control panel. Double click add/remove programs.

On the install/uninstall tab, click Internet explorer 5 in your list. Click add/remove. Click repair current installation of internet explorer. and then click ok. your system should start to uninstall automatically until it asks you to restart your computer. Click Yes.

Once restarted, your problem should be solved. It worked for me.

I believe you can do the same if not similar on xp.

I hope this helps others in the future.

My Friend,

Are you using a router? If yes, then try to consider updating your router firmware to the latest version. Go the sites of that router and you should be able to obtain it.

Hopefully this will resolve your issue.
