Microsoft update...help please

I have a problem with the Microsoft Update program. A few days ago, I told it to start downloading, and it has not completed yet. I have noticed that it stops at either 33% or 66%. Anyone know of a solution or any hints that they could tell me?

Should I uninstall, if there is a way, and how you do uninstall that particular windows client. Thanks a bunch.
