Networking xp professional and home

Hello....

I have a computer running xp professional and another running xp home edition and am trying to enable file and printer sharing between the two. They both have NICs and are connected to a D Link router that is connected to the LAN. Is it possible to connect these two with TCP/IP with the hardware that I currently have? Is an FTP server better? Do I need a seperate hub for the two computers and then have that hub connect to the internet? Or are there network cards that have two output/inputs for another computer and an ethernet connection to the hub?

You could connect your two computers with only your nic's but since you say that you have an internet connection through a router i suggest a hub. Connect your boxes to the hub and the hub to your internet connection device. That should have your problem solved. Hope this helps.
