Make a back up disc of pre-loaded XP Home

I recently purchased a lap top from Dell which came with XP Home pre-installed. I've read through several forums on this excellent siteand have convinced myself that I need to reinstall XP frequently to keep the laptop running smoothly. They've hidden it in some section of the hard drive and I've no idea how to make a back up. Please help.

I think you have been reading the wrong posts, you should not have to re-install windows regularly to keep the machine running well. There are however a number of things you can do to keep your machine safe and running in prime condition.

PS - If your machine came with everything pre-loaded there should be an option somewhere to either Restore to factory settings, which is similar to a Windows Restore however it uses the hidden share on your laptop to restore the machine to its basic out of the factory settings (you lose all you data so back it up).
