disable onboard graphics

I am getting a new graphics card for my comp.
I am going to fit and install my old one in my mates comp.

His computer has onboard graphics but I dont know what to do about it.
Do I have to uninstall the drivers or dissable the onboard graphics somehow?
If so how (detailed please ) do I go about it. I have never worked on a comp with onboard graphics before.
Any help would be apreciated.

Go into the bios (press delete repeatedly on boot up) then go to 'Integrated peripherals' and have a look for onboard graphics or onboard video. If you find it, disable it.
