Help! restore from xp pro backup

I used windows xp professional backup on my computer to backup everything on my computer and now I don’t know how to restore it. I had to use the (restore operating system disk) to start windows but I cannot now restore to the way it was before crash. I have the complete backup and the system recovery floppy but it asks me for a password and I did not use one. Anyone please help! I have many shortcuts and personal settings that must be restored.

Have you tried leaving the password field blank and pressing the Enter key on the keyboard?
