Sound recording software?

Hi everyone. I am new here (I registered because I was using a search engine to find what I was looking for). Heres my problem. I want to record my voice onto a CD-R. To do that I need a sound recorder. i have a microphone so thats ok. Now Windows XP Home Edn comes with a sound recorder (start, all programs, accessories, entertainment, sound recorder.) Although this program is good as I can record my voice and convert it into an mp3 or whatever and put it on a CD-R.
The problem is that its not nearly long enough. It only lets you record 60 seconds. i need more like 60min!
Does anyone know of a free program I can download that lets you record as much of your voice as you want onto a single file (or track) probably using windows media player wave files.

Well if you are serious about making recordings, etc then I can only recommend one program.
