Question Can I "hide" system folders ??

Does anyone know of a way that I can make folders (including system) invisible - or maybe hiding the contents. My young 'uns always seem to delete the "windows" or "system" folders..... Thank God for Nortons Ghost !
PS: I've tried counselling the little buggers......with the back of my hand, but they seem to have inherited their father's attitude !!!!

Sure you can. Just go to Control Panel, Folder Options, View, and then click where it says hide operating system folders. You can also see other options there for hiding folders.

When I say "hide", I really mean "HIDE" !!

Nup - not good enough, I'm afraid. I don't want him to be able even to see a folder called "windows" or "program files". I need to be able to make 'em totally invisible.

How about: "Auto-hide the task bar"?

right-click start > properties >taskbar >auto-hide the taskbar

if you use windows xp, try making a guest account for the kids, and put a password on the account you will use. the guest account has very few priveledges, and deleting folders is not one of them. if you do not have xp, then try some freeware or shareware programs that hide or at least protect your folders. here is one.

didn't like the price ,either. but I thought that would get him looking for something more attuned to his tastes.
