bad drive

I recently lost my hard drive, will there be a problem reloading Windows XP on my new one. How does XP register your computer?

If it has been a few months since the first install you may be able to activate XP again - no problem. If not, you will have to contact Microsoft via the phone or online and tell em what happened. No big deal.

If your concern is about product activation, here is Microsofts Product Activation page. They call it "Piracy Basics".
