Question Help needed! Disable Explorer in the Start Menu

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how to, or if it's even possible, to disable the feature that the Explorer is opened when a folder in the Start Menu (e.g. Startup under All Programs) is double-clicked in Windows XP?
N.B. I'm talking about double-clicking in the actual menu, not while browsing the menu with the Explorer.

Thank you in advance for your very much appreciated help.

Cheers!

Don't know if that is possible, but you can 'hide' any folder that's on the start-menu by right-clicking it and choosing properties. Even if 'show hidden folders' is enabled, they remain invisible on the start menu.

To 'unhide' it just right-click the start-button and choose 'explore all users'. make sure 'show hidden folders is enabled' before you look for it!

Thank you for your reply.

I need the folders to be visible, so your solution does not work for me. The idea is that only folders installed for a customer is to be visible, while all "normal" Windows features are to be turned of. Most things can be done by applying group policies (such as hiding the control panel), but so far this little thingie has eluded me.
