Question Java windows

Hi I hope some one can help.

I recently defrragged C: (It was well overdue) and had a major cleanout as I had some nasty Java viruses / trojans stealing my home page and generally messing with settings. I have cleaned using an excellent programme called ........ Clean up! Click here for Clean up . I also use the new version 7 of AVG Anti - Virus yet that missed some and would not remove the Java virus but told me how to in the forums. AVG Free virus software How to remove the "Java ByteVerify" AVG Forum on Java .

Unfortunately, after all this, Java pop up windows will not display anything (Proper pop ups and not adverts) also if I open a new window nothing will happen until (In the new window) I click on stop then refresh. This is anoying but I have no idea how to fix it. Could anyone please advise me?

MAy thanks in anticipation,

John

do you use sun java, or MS java....have you tried reinstalling your version, you probably have a registry error left from the removal and reinstalling the program/applet usually fixes it.

Hi Play_The_Odds,

I found two Java's on my computer ??? Sun Micro and another called Java runtime. I have uninstalled both and cleaned my temp files out, but have gone to XP updates and it tells me that there are no updates for me... Should I reinstall Sun Micro or try someone elses as I do not have a backup of any Java's.

Thanks,

John
