Hi, I recently used an automated setup program to install a connection for an alternate ISP (PPP over dialup), and it mucked up some settings somewhere to where none of my browsers will load web pages (returns an error of "page not found" almost as if DNS queries are being blocked) no matter which ISP I use to connect.
OK, some information that will help: A connection is being established - I can ping my ISP to verify this. I checked the firewall settings (on the firewall included with XP) to see if they had been altered in some way that would block web pages - I do not see that any such alteration has occured. I am using Win XP Pro SP2 on a P4 3.2 GHz with 1GB memory. I am running McAfee VirusScan antivirus software.
I had a similar prob once with another computer to where my firewall settings had been changed and all pages were blocked. This seems like that sort of problem, but as I mentioned, I don't see anywhere on the firewall settings where that is the case this time.
Any relevant information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
