start menu dissapeared

i turned a game on for a bit, and when i came back, my start menu on the bottom had dissapeared, ive heard other ppl who have had this problem with xp too, anyone know what the problem is?

Does the whole bar disapear, or just the start menu? Does it come back after a restart? What happens if you refresh the desktop? I know some games that run in a funky resolution, or some old DOS games will do things like that. I don't really have an answer for you, but in games that have done that to me in the past, if I couldn't get it fixed, a restart would usually do it.
