The reports are not showing a sound card, only onboard audio, have you tried the plugs on the I/O plate at all. Your Asus board has Realtek AC'97 audio not C-Media. Do you know the make and model of your sound card.

I tried a few times to put audio plug in I/O plate and not`s happening.
My neighbor who know something about computers he told me half year ago that my motherboard can`t recognize my audio plug into it.
So he put something into my computer in extension of computer [that something have 5 things in which I can put something]
When I put audio plug into a yellow one I can hear blurping snorkling some kind of sound but not a sound from computer!

I think but also I`m not sure that this is my music card...

This is the C-Media driver http://www.download.com/C-Media-CMI8...dlPid=10495783

it's a zip file

Installing Drivers

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax C-Media etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

I have a problem with sound.

I have downloaded and installed K-Lite codec pack. Everything worked perfect til ive restarted comp.

When i did, i heard that windows intro sound. After that no sound at all. I checked Control panel and it said no sound device.
I ve deinstalled K-Lite but same thing. Intro yes, everything else no.

So i deinstalled Realtek drivers. Restarted, no intro. OK.
Ive installed Realtek, but same no intro or sound device. In control panel says i have Audio, video codecs installed but no sound device.

Donno what else to do. Anyone with an idea?

PS Belarc says no multimedia detected.

Let me get this right, you have a sound card installed and the motherboard has Realtek onboard sound and neither work. Post belarc report, it's the make and model or the motherboard thats needed.

check this to see what is default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Hope this will help you resolve my problem.
Thx

Your audio plugs must be on the I/O plate for this driver to work, if you use an expansion slot then you have a Sound Card installed, see here, click the image to focus
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Did you get Realtek High Definition audio driver go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs

Tick I accept the above – wait till site resets then click Next

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

The site is slow

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
