No Sound: May be simple fix

For Audio problems: Open QuickTime Player and go to 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'QuickTime Preferences' -> 'Audio' then under 'Devices' click on 'Select Audio Playback and Recording Devices'. My default device is Realtek AC'97. Try it. Google that name and download. See if the Device field is populated after download. If so your sound should work.

Else, right click on My computer go to Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager. then click on the + next to Sound .. Highlight each device, right click and select update drivers. This is most likely not the problem, but if it is then this may solve. If that doesnt work for you I am sorry. I hope I was helpful.

For Video problems: Open QuickTime Player and go to 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'QuickTime Preferences' -> 'File Types' -- check here to see if the file format of your problem video files is selected.

It started yesterday, when my PC wouldn't go to my Optional User screen, and went directly to my Owner user. A error message was shown, and I was unable to connect to the internet, and my computer would freeze if I tried to switch users or restart.

Then I didn't hear any sound when my PC logged on.

If you can help me figure out why my sound is gone, and a way to bring it back, that would help.

audio driver here at Foxconn http://www.foxconnchannel.com/en-US/...D=en-us0000004

check this to see if realtek is default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

check this out first
Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device
should have Realtek HD ( High Definition ) as default audio

if not the driver is here at Asus

http://support.asus.com.tw/download/...Language=en-us

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Well i reinstalled drivers from my CD, check sound settings (Everything was in Realtek HD), sound was not muted etc. Everything was fine, my speakers/headphones were working on other devices. So i was like - WTF?! I was so nervous that i shut down my computer and went to watch TV... after 2h i turned on my computer - my sound came back! Maybe you know what problem there was?

P.S. Big thanks for drivers, keep up the good work...
