I don't know what happend. When I go into control panel and click sounds and audio devices I can not change any of the settings because the colors are like, dulled so when I try and click on anything nothing happens. It also says no audio device under the volume panel. I don't see what's wrong because I had sound before so I don't know what could have happend. I'm only 15 and I'm not really good with this system talk. Please help, thanks in advanced.

Had a similar problem with this board, go here to ECS http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloa...uID=35&LanID=9

download and install the PCtel AMR/CNR Modem driver, it appears to be linked to the audio.

Hope this helps

Set a System restore Point before installing just in case

This is the make and model Gateway 2000 GT5012

searching Model GT / then GT Series / then 5012 leads to driver http://support.gateway.com/support/d...=pn&param=5394

On Intel this is the motherboard D945GCZ
Going to intel and inputing the motherboard leads to here
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21

They both offer the SigmaTEL audio driver, which when you look at this
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
you know you have the right one.It really is just a case of hunting the sites.

Hope this helps
