Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

the audio driver is a SoundMAX but I'm not sure which driver you tried to install, this is an exe file, download and save where you can easily find, the desktop is good, to install double click.

Check the Release notes on how to install.

When I go into control panel and click sounds and audio devices I can not change any of the settings because the colors are like, dulled so when I try and click on anything nothing happens. Had Win 98, upgrade to XP Home Edition ,now no sound. Mainboard K7SOM+ V:5.2c (no sound board visable) Had warning re: software that does not support Windows XP that listed CMI Audio Config(in Control Panel) and Java(in Control Panel)???

Ran DIRECTX Diagnostic and got sound from my speakers. Real Player Perfect. Must have fixed my own problem but I'll be back.
