I have a laptop, and recently reformatted my hard rive, and my sound stopped working. I tried installing the drivers from the manufacturer's site, but they didn't work.

How did you manage to do that? My sound now works! I tried a bunch of different drivers, even from their website, and my manufacturers website(they had drivers for my notebook model) and none of them worked! You are extremely helpful. I had spent about 2 full days trying to figure this out, you are a genius, and thanks for your help.

Drivers aren't working either...poor laptop..everything works fine except them. I tried realtec, tried HP's drivers for the same audio device..tried everything... PLEASE HELP!!!

Great, I went to Asus and got the audio version the board uses, there are 2 downloads at Realtek, AC'97 and High definition, yours was High definition, happy listening

How did you install, go back to Gateway and read How to install, you have to use the Run command to do it.

i have the exact same computer with the Conexant audio and ive followed all the install instructions and it still says failure every time I try to install it. Ive called Gateway and they are NO help whatsoever. can somone please find a driver that works for the Gateway MX6445!

the Modem is not showing as installed, install the Modem driver then the sound driver
