hello well i got no sound ive look at my device manger and i got a yellow ! next to my audio thingy .... and here that thing u been asking evry1 to do vvv

Hi,
I'm having problems with No Audio Device present. I've updated the Realtek AC'97 audio driver, the MIDI works and the Realtek is present for the recording feature. It just won't playback wav files. Thank you so much for any help...

Thanks for the help bookworm=) I didn't post anything here (EDIT: Yes I did make a post but I was reffering to this thread;P) but I had a similar problem. I only needed to do the "sfc /scannow" im so happy now

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

another way
hey thanks but vefore you posted that I was messing around and I found a different way to fix it... On device manager I right-clicked the text with the yellow question mark on it.. and I think then I clicked scan for hardware changes and it fixed itself... Thanks soo much anyway

Hey Barbara, I'm getting the same message

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I also have a yellow exclamation mark by my sound device.

My computer is a Toshiba satellite A70 and my main circuit board is TOSHIBA EDW10.
I've tried downloading so many sound drives with no luck

alright idk what the hell happened. it said new updates are ready for you computer "restart now" "restart later". so i restared my computer to install these window updates. after i restarded my computer it no longer played any sounds, itunes or in any games or just the simple sound it plays when it clicks a link, i read all the trouble shoot stuff offered by windows and none of it works. however i did notice that there is a yellow ! next to "PCI Device" under the system devices. i have idea why it did this, also when i restart my computer a new hardware alert comes up and it promps me to a hardware update wizard, i click the next button which cuases it to search for the files needed to update however it doesnt find them. it says it cannot find the necesarry software. i have no cd's regarding any of these drivers. please help. here is my information about my comp.

No sound after reformatting
Hi

I seem to be having the same problem as Gabrielle when I reformatted my computer everything is working fine except for the sound. When i checked my device manager there does not have an audio device within it. I don't know why my computer is not recognizing my sound card. Everything worked fine until i reformatted the computer. I went to Belarc Advisor seeing as many of the forums were recommending this however I can't what kind of sound card I have. I know that I have a Intel Corporation d845gvsr aac44953-301 motherboard. I hope someone can help me with my predicament.

Have you tried a System Restore to before these updates were installed, are your radio jacks sited near to the mouse and keyboard sockets or lower down the comp in an exspansion slot, if System Restore does not work, the first thing is go here to Dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#

and install the Chipset driver.
