Hey! I too have no sound whatsoever, i have tried to solve the problem by myself, but to no avail. I would appreciate it if you could help me solve this problem. I downloaded Belarc but I don't know exactly what to paste from it so if I missed something please tell me. Sorry for the hassle and thanks!

P.S. I don't know how much this will help but i know that my sound card is a SigmaTel.

I've installed the chipset and reinstalled the audio drive but still it doesnt work. I don't get it as the Realtek audio is listed in the Device Manager but still no Audio Device Under the hardware option in the Sound and Audio Devices window, the Realtek AC'97 Audio properties show the following; Audio Device : Realtek AC'97Audio, MIDI : Realtek AC'97Audio, Mixer Device : Realtek AC'97 Audio.

I'm pretty sure the driver is installed properly now but there just doesnt seem to be any audio devices! When I try to turn on the Volume Control it says I need to install my mixer device but as you can see its already there.

I have plugged in speakers and all, when I use the RealTek Sound Manager to "Jack Sense" for devices it says Initialization Failed! I've checked the BIOS setup and the AC97 audio is set to auto, I've checked my services and windows audio is on automatic and started properly... I just don't get whats going on. Also every error or pop-up initiates the loud beeping noise from the CPU which is very annoying Could there be something so wrong that I would have to bring my computer to the shop?

@dangoson

Yesterday i was having having the same prob. but now i hav fixed it.
Thanx to this forum.
The problem is u hav 2 install a System device called Plug & Play Software Enumerator.The following are the steps to install it -
1. Go to folder options in control panel and under the view tab select 'show hidden files and folders' and also uncheck 'hide system files'.
2. go to C:\Windows\inf\ and copy machine.inf to some other drive.
3. open the copy of machine .inf and remove line 20 below[control flags] i.e ExcludeFromSelect=* and save the file.
4. go to control panel and select add new hardware.Windows will search for new hardware and say Whether u hav plugged the harware or not, select Yes .From the list select show all devices then click on 'have disk'
Now browse to ur copy of machine.inf . After that select first option from list i.e std.system devices and go down 2 P&p software enumerator.Click on install.Thats it.Now ur sound options should work.Enjoy!

+ my PnP Enumerator seems to be kinda weird, I can't Enable or Disable it (Doesn't give the option to do either, its greyed out) And can't uninstall it aswell

Edit: Well I followed your advice technoguy and now, I have 2 PnP Enumerators I can't uninstall either and everythings the same... should I try reformating again?

Tried that, I think I might just bring it to the shop as I've tried almost every thing suggested. On a weird note, something seems to have happened to my mobo disc as before its autoplay would show 4 items (Intel INF, LAN driver, Realtek AC'97, and another) but now it doesn't show Realtek anymore. It shows the others and says their installed but it doesnt show the Realtek anymore, I've explored the disc and the setup files are still on there but it just doesn't show on the disc autoplay installer.

Also is there anyway to stop the bleeping? Theyre just so annoying and loud.
