I was wondering where i found the make and model of my computer, my computer was actually put together for me by my old roommate whom i no longer speak to. Before i updated to XP the sound was fine. Also, what do i downlaod at this one website? is it a sound driver?

Well Iv'e been looking, the number of boards all with different sound is up to 9 at the moment, are you able to open the computer and look at the motherboard, no need to touch anything but ground yourself by touching a radiator first to eliminate static. Take a look at these to see how to identify your board, http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...5g-aug2k2.html
look under Testbed / click on various models eg: Abit BG7 to look at where and what the name looks like.

i looked around the computer

when looking inside the computer i found the model to be CWT-220FXC, My computer is very small so i wasnt really able to see nething on the motherboard. I was able to find the bar code 96CS384932900888.

This programm has many drivers insite. Try it.

it seems it is a mini board, 2 drivers for the reference CWT-220FXC, both Realtek ALC650 and ALC 201A both use this driver http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...&Software=True

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

i have the same problem as most of the people when i try to play something in windows media player i get this Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

which really annoying can anybody help please

as you can see there are 2 drivers for your Audio, as Belarc does not tell me which version of driver you have you will have to try them one at a time to see which works, hence the Restore Point.
