Go back to SiS and install the AGP and the IDE these are the Chipset drivers that tell the OS which INF files are needed, then install the audio driver again, but you will most likley get the Found New hardware from XP, in that case point it to the audio driver you downloaded.

I went into safe mode to see if i could install the drivers there and as soon as i booted into the desktop the bubble came up and the drivers installed fine.

I the rebooted normally but it restarted before it even got to the windows splash screen :/

Im getting tired of this now. Rather than messing around with drivers would it not be easier just to buy this:

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/48180

At this point id rather buy this and be done with it as im getting extremely frustated with having no sound. Could you please confirm that buying this will solve the problem? or will that need these drivers sorted out?

if it can run independently and therefore work fine, ill buy it and £5 is nothing

Exclamation Please help, no sound, need advice urgently!

I have no sound on my computer. I use Windows XP 2000. I installed a weird version of MSN Messenger, although I didn't know til I tried to start it. I then went to remove it and looked for Messenger, not Windows Messenger.

I then clicked on “MSN” with the little butterfly next to it and it said “Removing this will remove everything else associated with MSN too.” I clicked yes because stupid idiot me thought it would remove the version of Messenger I wanted rid of (it didn't, I discovered that later). It’s removed the sound thing too- I had Soundmax Digital Audio before this happened and I'm desperately trying to get everything back to normal before my mother comes home [Friday]. If I tell her she will not be happy.

The worst thing is I'm a part time musician and I can’t record anymore cos the sound isn't there! Please, please help, I'm about to throw a fit here!!!

These are the specifications of my computer:

Service Tag 2NBMF1J
Express Service Code 5763808423
Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Processor Speed 2.73 GHz
Memory (RAM) 512 MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Operating System Version 5.1.2600

I don't know if this will help anyone… I was reading through a few posts here and something named Barclar or something like that kept being mentioned… what it is and what can I do to resolve this thing? I was up all night trying things, I've had no sleep and am about to call my mother and spill all (not a good idea as she is working abroad)!

Barbara, can you help me?!
I'm worried and confused![/color]

Please email me or something with advice...

Right, I'm now going to go for a walk to calm down!

Have a word here, it does not show support for XP http://www.overclockeddoc.com/Forum/index.php

Barbara, I download and installed the file, but it gave me an error of "cannot find streamci.dll module". Still no sound. Should I restore back to the old point? Thanks again.
