Try the audio plugs on the I/O plate, are they working,if not then disable onboard sound in the BIOS and then go here http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/downl...AR CHTEXT=SE6

install the Intel chipset driver( restart after installation), then the Creative sound card driver

I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing, because I bought another sound card and still no sound. In my BIOS, there's nothing that just says "onboard audio", I have onboard 97 audio codec, 97 audio, and 97 video (if i remember correctly) What do I disable?

In the BIOS - Intergrated Peripherals - Onboard AC'97 Codec + AC'97 Audio - use PgUp to set both to Disabled - F10 to Save + Exit

I seem to be having the same problem as a lot of people here. I have a laptop, and recently changed my hard drive. Since then, the sound hasn't been working. It worked before. Belarc doesn't even detect anything under multimedia! Please help!

Belarc won't if the driver is missing, need the report to find the make and model or the motherboard to find the drivers, post the report please
