Thumbs up Gateway Fix For Sound Problem
On the gateway website select windows vista as your operating system. Ignore all warning messages then download sound driver

Install and the should fix your problem, it fixed mine

I just reformated my computer, after some problems. I have no sound at all, my computer says it cant install my audio software and I should look for Cd's--I reformated my computer once a few months ago and there was no cd's for my sound. It was just there. Randomly now its not. What should I do?!

EDIT: Using Windows XP, my speakers are CA....thats about all I know. Not very technologically inclined.

Ugh, apparently you cant edit a half hour after your post. I looked around, the SoundCard is in my computer (I already knew this, but neglected to mention it in my first post), but I dont have the cd. I dont remember there ever being one...but..It says its a Multimedia Audio Controller, or something. Doesn't tell me what it actually is though...

Uh...I think it came with my computer, at least. The SoundCard may have not come with it...again I dont really know. :\

No sound on my pentium iv
Purchased from MDG in January 2003.
Hard drive crashed.
Replaced the hard drive and installed updated version of xp home version
Mother board is intel p4 845e
Can't find the sound driver for this board on the Intel website.
Can anyone help me out?

Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates. It will give the info needed to trace what audio you have http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

P4 845E is the processor and chipset, need more info Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

a friend found his disc with the mdg sound drivers.
Speakers are working ok now, but microphone is not.
Have posted in another thread about this.
Also some email pictures do not open up

I have a Dell XPS 400. Some days ago I had a blue screen of death situation occur. I brought up the computer and shut down again. Since then, I have had no sound.

I get the "there are no active mixers available" message via Volume Control, and the device manager shows all audio related systems functional (no yellow marks). I also have Creative MediaSource (Audigy) whose icon replaced the default Windows voice icon on the lower right corner of my screen.

I have tried everything, and it seems my computer has no audio device? So weird... I have had my HP DV5030us for over a year now and audio has worked always. I got some new headphones, they worked then the next day all of this crap happens. I tried installing the drivers from the HP website and get this message "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this"

BLAAAAAH.... please please please someone help

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.
