check where the Realtek driver you downloaded is stored, or download again and do this create a folder - name it audio, then download the file into that folder,

check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

Go back to Dell and install the chipset driver - then restart your comp

This may be missing from the driver the M$ UAA http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...na l&lang=eng
install - then install the SigmaTel driver again

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
