Boggy XP with multiple user accounts

I am having a lot of bugs with using multiple users. Here is the set up:

Asus A7V, one IBM Deskstar 30 Go HDD which has Win98 (master) in Fat 32, one other Deskstar IBM 40Go HDD (slave) plugged on the ATA 100 bus which has XP on it, Fat 32 as well. (the CDrom and the burners are on the slower IDE channels).

This is for a family, so I have 5 users. When I went ahead to set up the passwords and set the types of accounts, the system kept freezing up on me, when I tried to log out and change users, it would crash and I had to reset it.

When I would just restart and log in as one of the users, this was ok, but otherwise, it would just keep on crashing.

I wondered if this had to do with the fact I hadn't format it with NTFS.

It would have nothing to do with it being Fat32 over NTFS.

How much RAM is is the system?

How many programs are runnig in the background when you try to log off a user?

Open Task Manager and look in the botom left corner and tell me how many processes there are.

Hi,

It has 128Mo Ram. I don't have the machine in front of me, but, it would have the normal processes XP has in the background. I installed AVG anti virus and Nero as additional programs. I know the Antivirus is taking time to close.

I will see it later on in the day, I will be able to tell you exactly what is running in the background.

I am looking for a site which tells exactly what each one of the background services do so as to know if I can turn them off or not.
