Dr Watson Postmortem error!
On Acer Tablet PC, Windows XP pro SP2, Adaware, Spybot SD, Spywareblaster, NAV (All with the latest update)
As soon as the windows xp pro sp2 installation is finished and restart the pc, and login, the windows freeze and the error message windows popup with a message .. 'dr. watson postmortem debugger' and should be closed.
When I click more info I get:
Faulting application drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001295d
I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and 'end process' the drwtsn32.exe.... after that I can use the computer normally..
What causing it and How can I fix this?

Have you tried to uninstall SP2?

I am having this same dilema and cannot access any of my desktop files with pictures, videos, music, and documents, nor can they be accessed from the start menu. Several times the Dr Watsons Postmortem Debugger sign comes up, but mostly my computer just freezes and nothing can be retrieved.
I have searched many online message boards for help and feedback on this issue but have come up short. Most of the suggestions are written in a tech coded language that I cannot understand, using terms I've never heard of, and instructions that are greek to me.
Are there any straightforward step-by-step downloads that can erase this bug?
Thanks

Can not delete SP2 cause you can not enter any files or desktop programs. The only way i can get to my pix files is through email as if i was going to attach. also notice that my Norton anti virus can no longer update & my subscription is up to date

I keep having trouble with it too, and I've checked around for solutions to it, but all I find is this:
"To turn off the Dr Watson debugger, apply the following Windows XP registry hack:
Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
Name: Auto
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0 disable
Value: 1 enable
"
But when I try to do this, the Auto Type is different, it says REG_SZ instead of REG_DWORD. What should I do?

Hi, I've got the same problem. But do you suspect that the problem lies in SP2? Come to think of it, maybe you're right. I have never come across this problem when I'm at SP1 and the other later versions.

Hey, I had the same problem, I tried to change the same registery key, but I changed the one with the TYPE: REG_SZ
I think it works fine now with me ..... I don't have that problem anymore.
Good Luck
