Exclamation Help! Where has all my disk space gone?

Okay.. Here goes;

I recently installed a video conversion tool called OSS Video Converter. I wanted to convert an mpeg file to avi format so I could then go on and burn it to DVD.

I got so far into the conversion (mpeg to avi) and got a warning that I was running low on disk space. I had around 12Gb free before the conversion, and then to my horror seen that I was down to around 250Mb!!

I stopped the conversion and deleted the file (Which was around 11.5Gb in size by then. So that should've freed all that disk space back up right?

Wrong. I now only have 2.81Gb free, and cannot for the life of me understand how that can be. I've tried the Drive Cleanup tool but it wont even spare another 1Gb from that.

Any ideas or suggestions anyone?

First, find out where OSS Video Converter stores files and logs, and check those directories.
These instructions will help you to clean all standard temporary files on your computer. If still having problems, get some file management utility that will show you size of folders - it should help you to track down the biggest folders/files. If this is not an option, open Windows Explorer and browse your drive checking size of folders.
Additionally, you can search for files by Size (Start -> Search -> For Files and Folders -> use What size is it? option.)

Related: Native Windows features using large amounts of hard drive space: Page file, Hibernation, System Restore.

Good Luck!
