Exclamation Computer Restarts... (more info inside)

Okay.. this is like the fourth site im going to for help...

i got my computer reformatted just yesterday and i did not install anything...

problem - my computer restarts itself.. usually it restarts when its loading the welcome screen (log on screen) and when im finally able to get on.. it restarts at random times... (but it seems like it restarts when i try to open a program, it SEEMS)

i used to get blue screens so i took my computer to a shop my friend recommended so they fixed that problem.. but now my computer just restarts.. (im thinking of going back, but i want to know the problem first.. so they can fix it)

Here's my computer stats:

Windows XP pro sp2
Intel Pentium 4
1.60 GHz
128MB RAM
29.2GB (26.0GB Left)

I told the guy at the computer shop that my computer restarts.. he said it might be because of the RAM or Hard drive? but he wasnt 100% sure..

any ideas? thanks in advance...

Download (to another machine) "Memtest' and then create a "boot floppy". Run that floppy at system start to check for Ram issues.

open up the computer case and find what power the power supply is - it the thing that your power cable plugs into - tell us how many watts it is, cause some computers need a fair amount of juice!

Some psu's (power supply unit) will cause your pc to reboot for no reason if they are on the edge of going bad, or possibly the wrong wattage for your system. I think memory can cause this aswell if the chip is going bad.
