Screen saver problems

Hi,
the computer that is having problems is a Dell laptop running Windows XP Prof. SP2. The problem is that no matter what screen saver is chosen, the time delay period, or password settings are chosen the screen saver will not activate. Also the screen will not turn off after the specified period, nor will the computer lock using the windows+L combo.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

You might need to enable ACPI in the BIOS for some reason. It is worth a look. As far as windows+L, do you have fast user switching enabled? If so dissable it and then it should work just fine.
