The error code is 7

hello im getting errr code 7 when im trying to install windows on a cleen hd. the windows install is up in like 10 sekonds then it comes up (bla?bla. some kernelfile.exe culd not be loaded, the error code is 7. what can i do???

try posting the exact error message your getting. it will be easyer for people to help you.

Yeah, I have the exact same problem Dennis - and the complete error message is:

"File \ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7."
Setup cannot continue.............

Yes, I have read those - didn't actually make me any brighter since almost all of them speak of different ways to correct this issue - could keep on for weeks trying all that.......:-)

I have had exatcly the same problem, although the error messages sometimes change. I moved my HDD and CDROM drive from the secondary IDE interface to the primary, and this fixed the problem.

Well, in my case it turned out to be a disk problem. Bought a new HDD, and everything is fine now.

For me it was moving the CD ROM from slave to master...
