Device Manager Help

I installed a USB2.0 PCI Card, including the software provided.
Plugged in my USB Dual Option WD/HD all worked fine for 4 days.
All of a sudden card will not recognize anything. (HD, Data Traveller, Mouse)
Device Manager in normal mode shows no reference to the USB Card.
XP Pro safemode does reference the NEC card in device manager.
I tried removing entries (uninstall option) in safemode and rebooting.
I experimented with my cordless USB mouse, but on reboot mouse was not
recognized.
W/98 used to recognize any removals and reload them all.
What do I need to do in XP Pro to get same results?
I would like to remove all references to the card reboot and start over.

You may try physically taking the card out. reboot, shutdown again. Then reinstall the card. Kind of a pain but may help.
