Unexpected restarting during installation WINXP!

Hi,
I'm trying to install WINXP on a computer ,and i have encountered a strange problem.
During Installation Process ,when WINXP is trying to (installing devices) computer restarts by itself and when reboots again, installation Process continues from the [INSTALLING WINXP].
it goes on and when it comes to (installing devices) it repeats again and again
what is the Problem?
any help and guidance will be appreciated

Ps: i don't remember the exact name of levels of installation, but i tried to show where Error Happens

*....................

*Preparing Installation

*copying files

*Installing WINXP ((((((((((Error happens here)))))))))))))))

Does it give you a error mesage at all? Is it a clean install? If so does it copy all files it needs or does it skip any? Do you have a RAID installed? Have you tried to clean the disk? Have you ran a check disk? Note: If it was a clean install of either FAT32 or NTFS then check disk can be skiped.

Thanks for your quick reply,
if clean install means that i have formatted HD before (sorry, as i am a newbie i don't understand what do you mean exactly)
the answer is yes, i did it.
i even attached Hd to other computer and created a new partiton set and formatted it.
i tried to install WIN XP on this computer three times!, and each time it failed
but i suppose that HD is ok, because i installed this HD on my own computer (i removed my own HD) and i could install WINXP.
could Graphic Card cause the Problem?
it's TNT2 64 pro 32MB and it caused some problems, for example, i was called for help because it was not fixed in Slot.
i pushed it in Slot and it worked again,it works as Standard PCI VGA card but when setup xp tries to install a driver for Vga card...
i hope,i didn't divert you to other side and VGA Card may be ok.
is it possible that a Hardware failure like this caused the Problem?
i couldn't replace a new VGA card to find out what happens next.
thanks again for your help
Any help & guidance will be appreciated
PS: i get no Error! this Process (restaring during installation, back to the installation after reboot & restarting again) repeats again and again

this happen a lot
what you do when you get to the point say that you have 39 min of the setup to go please until you see the setup start to installing devices at 37 min
when it get to 37 min you have to do this very quick
press Shift and F10 key together
you will get the Dos windows
when you in Dos windows type in taskmgr.exe and then press enter
you will get the task manager comeup
go to processes tab
look for svchost.exe
if you have more then one you have to right click on it one at the time
and then press end process
click yes to the warning message
and then wait there you will have a box come up and it will say something like...the software you try to install for ....... is not pass windows logo testing just remember doesn;t matter how many box it come up please click YES on every box if you can pass that point close all the Dos and get back to setup screen you will get to 33 min of setup and then continue with the setup

GOod Luck

sounds like a piece of hardware is going bad you could start checking stuff if you got spare parts around like (CD Rom), PSU, Ram, Video card etc. If after replacing a part and the install works i'd say that part is bad. Make sure your cd is clean, and not all scratched up, or damaged.

Alternate solution

I encountered this same problem while installing XP on a new PC (during the Windows XP setup, the PC would restart at "Installing Devices" every time), and I found this (very old) page while attempting to troubleshoot it. My issue was actually caused by bad memory timings, not unsigned drivers. After I went into my BIOS and relaxed my memory timings, the Windows installer worked without a problem. I just wanted to post this alternet solution, in case anyone else comes across this problem and also finds this thread.

FYI, the page that led me to a fix is here: http://www.houseofhelp.com/v3/showthread.php?t=72523

I'd purchased Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 DDR2 RAM, which was advertised as being rated for 4-4-4-12 timings, so I set these manually in my motherboard BIOS (an Intel DG45ID). Unfortunately, Corsair does not make it clear that their memory is only rated for those timings at increased voltage (1.9v). After I set the timings back to the default (5-5-5-18), the Windows XP setup completed successfully.
