Plug and play problem

I cannot make PnP devices work properly. When i connect a new PnP device for instance my printer, MP3 player, windows detects it but cannot install the driver. When I first setup the OS it detected my MP3 player as a mass storage device and worked properly but now XP detects it as a 'AFMP3 Player' and cannot install the driver. Is there a way to solve this problem other than reinstalling the operating system?

you can also contact from yoruk_umit@yahoo.com

Did you try to install drivers supplied by manufacturers of the devices?

I tried but it says you can now connect your printer in some part of the installation. When i connect it the setup cannot see the printer and doesn't continue installation. my printer is HP 3745 so i have to use its cd.

Uninstall all old (presently unused) printers.
Then try downloading fresh drivers (along with installation instructions) from the HP site.
If not go, search their Knowledge Base.

I didn't install a printer before but i think the problem occurs just because of windows xp. some thing may effected it. I also tried to install any driver from the add new hardware setup but it lists nothing. I have seen the same problem on a previous thread sent by "tongachutt" named "Plug and Play service not working"

Please check the Device Manager (right-click My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager) for unknown/improperly installed devices.

Also, check the Event Viewer (Start - > Settings -> Control Panel - > Administrative Tools - > Event Viewer) for possible related errors.

I have looked device Manager and only found AFMP3 player problem. also there isn't a printer driver.

In the Event Viewer in the applications part there were two applications caused warning and error. These are USERENV and ESENT. when I searched for them I found the path C:\WINDOWS\I386.

I also find errors in the system part which are: Dhcp,Win32k,Tcpip,BITS,DCOM

But I don't know what to do now.
