System Restore

I know this is a redudant question, but I need some assurance. Does system restore change programs and would you loose any work added to the programs after the restore point.??? I assume it only restores the operating system..Thanks.

I just recently did a restore! It restored only to the last restoration point, meaning yes you lose all info after that point!!!
