xp installation

I am doin an installation of win xp pro and it keeps hanging on the screen where it says enter to continue f3 to exit and repair hit r
I followed instructions by grendel i think in an earlier post trying to manually install it but i still come back to this screen where it keeps locking up
I have tried updating my motherboard bios and it did not help

I have an Asus A7V8X-X
semperon 2200
1 gig ram and
biostar geforce4 mx440.
