Smile Drive Booting problem in new laptop

I removed a fully functional hard drive with windows XP from one Toshiba Laptop and put it on a similar Toshiba Laptop as a master drive. But it doesn't boot at all.

When I put it as a slave, I can access it. But I want to use it as a master drive to use all the software on it.

Am I missing some crucial step? Can anyone help?

Drive boot problem

Helo,
As per you drive's boot problem, check and see if the drive is compatable with the new laptop, and make sure you set the drive jumper to be "master" or "Single drive" depending on your product.

check you drive's jumper setting on the body of your hard drive.

Thanks.
Every thing is OK.
The drive is compatible, from Toshiba for Toshiba lap top.
Works inthe same laptop as slave drive.
But the OS on it doesn't boot when put as a Master drive.

The fact that is accessible as a slave has no bearing on the fact that the OS, which was setup on another computer, will not boot. XP is expecting the system to be a certain specification and it isn't so it can't run.
