windows media player problem

I can't watch movies, in Internet explorer. I used to be able to click a
movie, and watch it in Internet Explorer, but now, when i click a movie link,
it doesn't work, so if I want to watch it, I have to rightclick>save as, and
watch it from my desktop.

it started doing this when i downloaded the newer version of windows media player.

how do I change this back to the way it used to be?

Did you by any chance download any other media player such as Quicktime, RealPlayer, BsPlayer, etc.. that may have tried to take over playing movie files?
Either way, try this: Open Media player. Click on Tools menu, Options....File Types tab. If you try to use media player for anything it can play, click on Select All button and OK.
Other than that, did you recently upgrade to SP2?
