I can't seem to access my dvd writer (Nec ND 3500AG) in "my computer". At first I could open the drive but it would show nothing as if the disc was empty. I then tried to uninstall the drive in device manager, restarted windows, win xp automatically re installed the drive but now when I try to access it in "my computer" it says "Disc is not formatted" and "windows cannot read from this disc. The disc might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows."
I can still burn CDs and DVDs with nero. I can also play audio CDs in media player. Just tried playing a DVD video in Power DVD with no luck, I get the message "dvd-video playback graph building failed" and error code "8004027A".
I have also tried my old pioneer dvd 106 and it still has the same problem so it must be a windows problem.
Only thing I can think I have done recently was use "HiJack This" got rid of some programs starting up etc and I might of gone a bit trigger happy.
Everything has been running perfect since I did a fresh install about 3-4 months back.
The spec of my computer is:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
XP 3200
2 x 512mb ddr 400
WD 2500JD 250GB SATA
Nec ND 3500AG
ATi 8500 LE
Anyone got any ideas?
